Event Details

Exhibit Grand Opening for Weathering the Storm: Life for Black Galvestonians in 1900 and Beyond - a celebration of the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth and the 125th anniversary of the 1900 Storm.

We invite you to join us for a mixer in the Fox Room celebrating our newest exhibit with wine & refreshments. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Araminta Sorrell, a Certified Tourism Ambassador and expert in Black History & Culture, to Trustees Hall for a fascinating lecture on the impact the 1900 Storm had on Galveston's Black community.

Event is open to the public. Registration is preferred but not required.
