Hear Roy Collins, III, son of former teacher, musician, and author Izola Ethel Fedford Collins (Island of Color: Where Juneteenth Started), speak about the history of Juneteenth as it relates to Galveston and how it has been observed and celebrated over the years up to the present day. The presentation will be accompanied by a display of Juneteenth-related items from the Galveston and Texas History Center.
