Hear vivid insights about the Underground Railroad South to Mexico, the Black Seminoles and Freedom.

Featuring guest speaker Juan Manuel Galvan, PhD., Professor of History and Humanities at Lone Star College-Kingwood and special guest, Corina Torralba, a descendant of Black Seminoles.

The Galveston & Texas History Center will be showing items related to the program. Some of the items include:

  • A 99-year indentured servant contact from the James Morgan papers
  • A letter from Samuel May Williams

This program is done in collaboration with Nia Cultural Center and Wild Lion Productions.
